Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how we handle your data.

Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how PrecioLuz (the “App”, “we”, or “us”) collects, uses, and protects the limited information required to show you the hourly electricity price in Spain and deliver the alerts you configure. By using PrecioLuz you agree to this policy.

Information We Collect

Account & Contact Data

PrecioLuz only asks for your email address (and optionally your name) when you contact support, subscribe to service updates, or enable system notifications. We use this data to deliver alerts and respond to your requests. We never sell or rent this information.

Usage Data

We gather anonymized diagnostic information about how the App is used so we can keep the real-time electricity board stable. This includes device model, iOS version, time zone, the tariff you are visualizing, and crash logs. None of this data identifies you personally and it is aggregated whenever possible.

  • Alert rules: thresholds, schedules, and delivery methods you configure.
  • Scenario estimates: appliance runtimes and consumption you enter inside the planner.
  • Widget preferences: which tariff or time horizon you pin to your home screen.

Data Synchronization

Alert rules, saved scenarios, and favorite hours sync across your Apple devices through Apple CloudKit when you use the same Apple ID. PrecioLuz does not see your Apple ID credentials—Apple handles the encryption and storage on our behalf. You can disable iCloud sync at any time from the system settings.

How We Use the Data

The information above is used to deliver the service (show prices, send alerts), troubleshoot issues, and comply with legal obligations. We may send you transactional emails about outages or important changes. Marketing emails are only sent if you explicitly opt in, and each message includes an unsubscribe link.

Third-Party Services

We rely on a few vetted providers to operate the App. Each provider has its own privacy policy:

  • Apple CloudKit: stores alert rules, widgets, and favorites using Apple’s encrypted infrastructure.
  • Telemetry/Analytics: we may use lightweight analytics (for example TelemetryDeck) to understand crashes and aggregated usage without profiling individuals.
  • Electricity data providers: official APIs such as Red Eléctrica (REE) and OMIE supply price data only; no personal information is exchanged with them.

Data Retention

Alert rules and scenarios remain stored until you delete them or close your account. If you unsubscribe from optional communications we remove your email from that list. Diagnostic logs are rotated every 30 days.

Data Security

We protect data in transit with TLS and encrypt stored data via CloudKit. Internal access is limited to the developer maintaining PrecioLuz. No security system is perfect, but we monitor for suspicious access and will notify you of any incident that affects your information.

Children's Privacy

PrecioLuz is built for adults managing household electricity bills and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a minor has provided data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced inside the App or by email before they take effect. Continued use of PrecioLuz after the update means you accept the revised policy.
